At Dave’s House, we work to help residents live their best life, supporting men and women with serious mental illness rebuild their lives, escaping homelessness and living in a supportive home. They are people in our community who did not have a home, or a family to give them care, or a financial support system.
Your gift toward programming and ongoing support will positively impact the lives of residents!
Dave’s House is developing our first Dave’s House Residential Community, a permanent supportive housing community for men and women with SMI. We plan to house 36 adults with 24 one- or two-bedroom units in Central Florida. It will include a clubhouse providing common usage space for services available to the residents.
Our model emphasizes quality-of-life programs, including case management, peer support, mentoring, and personal and professional life skills development to support whole-person wellness. This wrap-around service provides residents with SMI management, independent living, self-confidence, and self-actualization.
We are developing project infrastructure, including site selection, project design, budgeting, funding, and operational planning, including services and amenities.
Together, we are making an impact.
In Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties, over 7,300 people are homeless. Nearly 20% of these people have serious mental illness.
Our work has ended homelessness for over 100 men and women with serious mental illness since 2008. We still have much to do, and many more men and women in our community to help.
