Together! Creating Homes and Changing Lives

During Mental Illness Awareness Week, we will celebrate Dave’s House programs that end homelessness for men and women with serious mental illness. It will be a week of virtual fun with friendly competition at our online auction and ways we can all raise awareness about mental illness – fighting stigma and supporting our community. You can also have fun sharing your own personal fundraiser and hosting a personal House Party at home or online.

Support our work to end homelessness for men and women with serious mental illness! It’s simple to do with step-by-step instructions! We’re here to assist if you need help! It can be just for you or set up a team.

1. Set up your personal fundraising landing page

Pick your fundraiser's name!

Share your personal story of why you support Dave’s House!

Share your personal fundraiser link with your friends and family via social media and email!

Click on "Start Fundraising" in the banner at the top of this page to set up your personal fundraising page.

If you prefer to simply donate to an existing fundraiser, check out supporter personal fundraisers at the bottom of this page.

2. Invite your team

Don your Team Captain’s hat and put together your Dream Team of friends, family, neighbors, faith community, social groups, co-workers – anyone you’d like to include to help you reach your fundraising goal. Share your page’s URL with them so they can share it with their friends and family. Please note: your fundraiser page is associated with your email as a personal page. Your team members can share your page's URL so that donations to them count to your page's collective efforts.

3. Raise funds now through October 10

We know times are tough – no amount is too small and every gift is so appreciated! You and your team members can share your fundraising page via email and social media so that others in your social circles can help you reach your donation goal alongside you and your team members. We'll send you team competition updates and ideas for how to reach more people.

4. Personal party time – in person or virtually!

Host your own party to connect with your team or supporters whenever it's convenient for you during Mental Illness Awareness Week – in person or virtually. Take pictures and tag Dave's House: Facebook @DavesHouseFlorida | Instagram @DavesHouseFla.

Make your party fun for you and your team – whatever you enjoy doing. Some ideas for in-person or virtual parties:

  • Outdoors: personal or team walk | fitness challenge | car wash | neighborhood wine walks | pool laps challenge | kid's sports or dress up party | make-your-own pizza picnic
  • Indoors: wine tasting | birthday or unbirthday party (for you or your pet!) | paint party | bingo | arts & crafts party | dinner party | recipe tasting and exchange | happy hour | cocktail party | game night | mystery dinner party | dance or DJ party

5. Dave's House party time!

Join us at the online Wrap Up Party on October 10 at 6 pm to share the celebration. We’ll announce team fundraising winners, have a lively live auction, and spotlight Dave’s House residents, community partners and program initiatives. You are helping change lives with your support and helping to raise mental illness awareness!

Fundraising proceeds help expand our programs to provide the stability of affordable permanent supportive housing for more people with serious mental illness as well as enhance our programs providing ongoing life skills training for our residents.
